About Me
I love a really well made piece of gym equipment, I really do. But there are a great many things in the industrial, engineering, building and manufacturing world that can be used to build gym equipment at a fraction of the price. What started as a ‘make-do’ attitude during covid lockdown has become a preference. Having full control of the size and proportions of your equipment is a luxury that is not available from off-the-shelf solutions and very expensive to custom fabricate. Additionally, the value of the components is virtually unchanged with use or age. While nothing depreciates quite like gimmicky cardio machines, second hand scaffolding and fittings appreciate in value as the price of steel increases. Here I have cataloged all of my DIY equipment as well as some of the lessons I have learned along the way.
